Today I continued working on the Willamette Photos project and I am almost done with Box 15! Once I finish this last folder I will need to go back and organize the folders into an order that will reflect the spreadsheet and the thumbnails on the drive. I also will need to put more photos and negatives into photo sleeves. I talked to Rosemarie about labels for the photo sleeves, and we decided that we would just label them with permanent marker for now until a better system can be developed.
I'm pretty happy with the progress I made today. Hopefully Box 15 will be done by Thursday.

October 25
Today I scanned some pages of the Willamette (Wallamet until 1870) Bulletin for Mary. Then I worked on the Willamette Photo project. I got through folder 6. Folder 5 took me the majority of the time today as it was full of negatives that had to be put into sleeves.

October 23
Today I kept working on the campus photos project. There were some photos that I could not find on the Drobo drive that are in the folders. For now, those will go in the mystery folder, and hopefully they will turn up later. I didn't know what to do about folder 3, which is full of index cards. I think they were used to organize the photos before they were put on computers. The cards might be helpful later on when trying to identify people. Folder 4 was just negatives. Folder 5 is mostly full of pictures from Alumni Day 1983. A lot of them were stuck together so I decided to organize them into photo sleeves. I also received a scanning project from Mary which I will do on Thursday.

October 16
Today I started working on the Willamette Photos Project. I made it through folder one which had photos 2354-2447. All of the originals were found and I found one of the photos that was missing from the drive. There were about 15 photos that I did not find on the drive but they still fit with the pictures in folder one. Those photos (mostly outdoor program photos and campus life photos) were put in the mystery pile which will eventually end up in box 16 with everything else that still needs scanned. I started on the photos from folder two, which are mostly individual photos of faculty from the 1980s. The project isn't as horrible as I thought it was going to be as the pictures are easier to find on the drive than I originally thought. Plus, I really enjoy looking at the pictures.

October 11
Today I finished checking the 1941 Wullulah (with the exception a few pages I have a question about) and I got through page 101 of the 1916 Wullulah. Next week, I am going to start the campus photos project.

October 8
Today I continued scanning the 1916 Wullulah. I am about halfway done with that.
I continued reviewing the 1941 Wullulah. I end up having to do edits on most of the pages, mainly because of the moire on all the pictures. But I really enjoy going through the old yearbooks so I don't really mind.
Sara introduced me to the campus photographs project. I'm really glad I came in at the end of the project; it looks like a lot of work to get all of them in order. But I think I'm going to enjoy looking at the pictures and seeing WU life in the past.

October 4
Today I kept scanning the 1917 Wullulah and got through page 71. I would have gotten farther, but while I was checking the 1941 Wullulah I noticed a lot of problems with it. So I abandoned the 1917 for a little bit to fix the major problem (there were some pages missing and because of that all the pages in the 20s and some in the 30s were not numbered correctly). I finally got that taken care of and then returned to the 1917.

October 2
Today I kept working on scanning the 1916 Wullulah through page 59. I also started reviewing the images from the same year. The images all look really good. I only had to fix a a few.
I also scanned some photos from another Wullulah as part of the project getting pictures and information for someone interested in the football team that was in Hawaii during Peal Harbor. I find it really interesting to be able to look back at all the old photos and newspapers from Willamette. Hopefully there will be more on Thursday.
