The creature that is the enormous scanner has been relocated to its new home in the corner of the Cave. I'm really digging the new arrangement of computers and scanners, so hopefully it works out well the new people start working!
We moved the Epson scanner (Gregor? I don't know if I like that name. Why are all our scanners named after guys?!?) and it's back on the new computer so the scanning is going sooooooo much faster. Folder 6 will be finished today, and I'm hoping I'll be done scanning the rest of the folders by the time I leave for a few weeks.
In other, completely unrelated news, all I've had to eat today is coffee and muffins and donuts. (Maybe that's why the scanning is happening so fast today?!?)

The Waiting Game
So I still haven't heard about the scholarship. But, even if I don't get it I am still going to pursue the project. The photos are just too amazing to go unseen by the Willamette/Salem community.
Also, scanning is slow. But, Gregor and I are making progress! I'm thinking next week since I don't have classes after Tuesday I'll spend more hours here and try to get this project finished up before I start the summer work.
Also, the sun is out!

The Editing Day
I edited most of the letters in Folder 3 of the Wilbur collection today. I should have the rest done by tomorrow. After that I might just keep scanning the folders because I want to get that over with.

The Weekend
Sorry for the lack of posts this week!
This week I literally scanned the third folder of Wilbur letters. That's it. There were so many letters it was ridiculous. And since I'm scanning them at 600dpi it just takes a little longer. Plus the computer that the Epson scanner is hooked up to is not as fast as the other computer. But I finished scanning them today and got to start editing!
I think I'm just going to scan all the letters, then edit, then find their match in the Word documents.
Have a good weekend!
