November 29

This morning I scanned some Beach letters and envelopes that were not in the Beach Letter collection. Rosemarie told me some really interesting things about his letters and the other letter collections we have at Willamette. It's amazing that we have letters from such important people in the library.

After that I kept on stamping for the Campus Photos collection and got through Box 5. It's a slower process than I thought it would be (partly because I get distracted looking at the pictures), but I'm pretty sure that I can get all of it done before I leave for Christmas break.

November 27

Now that all the photos are in place for the campus photograph collection, I am finally able to start stamping and labeling the folders! And the stamps are really fun to use so that's a plus.

I also did some scanning of the 1916 Walullah today. That one is only about halfway done, so I may try to finish that this week and stamp in between scans.

November 20

So the campus photographs were not completely done. But I think they are now! There were just some photos to scan and find on the Drobo drive.

Next week I can start (and hopefully finish) the stamping. It may be a longer process than I think it is at this point.

November 15

The last box for the campus photos collection has been finished! All that is left is some final organizing and labeling for the boxes which I will do next week.

November 13

The campus photos project is moving along at a pretty slow pace. This last box of miscellaneous photos and negatives has such a random mix of photos that have been scanned, haven't been scanned, originals are present in another box, are negatives of photos in another box, etc. So it's taking longer than I thought it would.

Today I was only able to get through two folders. One of the folders contained negative strips of photos in Box 13. The negatives were all out of order, so it made labeling them difficult, but I believe that photos were accounted for. I put the negative sheets in a folder into Box 13 and they sit behind the prints of the negatives. Hopefully I will be able to make more progress on Thursday.

I also did some scanning for Mary today. And Rose Marie (who is always really nice and helpful for me) showed me where the campus photos boxes are kept in the archives so now I know where to find them!

November 8

Today I continued with the campus photograph project. I spent the day on one folder because I was having trouble scanning the negatives and getting good images out of them. Sara and I figured out how to scan the negatives into positive photos, which made the rest of the process a lot easier and faster. Now I know what to do for that and hopefully I can finish the rest of the folders a lot faster. I am also going to update the Digitization Assistant Scanning info with how to scan negatives.

November 1

I finished Box 15 today! All the photos and negatives are in order, labeled, and put into archival sleeves. There were a lot of leftover negative/photo sleeves that the archives don't need anymore, so I am going to see if the Photo Club on campus may want them.

The next task will be adding Box 16. Most of the photos are going to be scanned and added to the spreadsheet. Sara made notes of what should be done with each group of photos in the folders.
