March 18

I'm still working on Book 1 for the Sackett Collection. I have run into a small problem though. Some of the negatives do not fit the negative trays I have, so I can't get a good scan of them. Do we have any more scanning trays? Is there another way I could scan them to get a better picture?

I spent the rest of the time putting the rest of the negatives from Book 1 into their binder and working on filling out the information on the computer.

It's looking like each book will get it's own binder, which I think will work out nicely. That also means that we will need more binders. I will also scan the index of each book to go along with it.

I also have a question about labeling the negatives, but I can ask Sara on Wednesday or Thursday.

  1. More binders have been ordered (and you may want to transfer to those new binders when they arrive as they'll have boxes in which they will fit.)

For scanning the non standard sizes, try the hints on page 50 of the user manual:

-Basically put the film directly on the glass, uncheck the thumbnail box, and use the manual focus button on the scan preview.

Let me know if that doesn't work out in the real world.
